Default Hi everyone, new guy posting

Hi everyone,

I have been considering getting a newer Mustang GT for a few weeks now. I guess you could say I've always been a muscle guy at heart, I used to own an IROC Z Camaro back in the day.

Right now, I own a 2000 Acura Integra Type-R...dunno if you guys know much about them. It's pretty much just my weekend car and right now it's in winter storage. My daily driver is a 1991 Honda Accord with 257,000 miles on it. Runs like new.

So why am I here? I miss one thing the most....torque, haha. I've been thinking about selling my Integra and getting a v8 mustang....preferably 98-01. I don't know too much about them, but I'm going to look around this place a bit and see what I can learn.

I autoX a lot with my R, it's what it was made for basically. I think a Mustang would be a great AutoX car as well. I'm not into drag racing too much. I ran a 13.8 in my Integra with i/h/c/e but I don't enjoy ragging on my car like that.

Anyways, just popping into say hi. If there's anything I should look for when browsing through classifieds, let me know!

Thanks guys =)

EDIT: I'm a moderator on another import website so I know what it's like to get newB's in. Don't worry, I will read a lot before I ask stupid questions.

Welcome to the forums. What will the Mustang do that the IROC didn't ?? How about more than 9 mpg. Best friend had one, red, fast 4 sure, could pass everything but a gas station.

Enjoy the Forums.

Amen to that. I remember getting like 13 or so MPG...I hated it. The IROC is slow compared to a newer GT Mustang as well.

I get 15mpg with moderate boosting.

But I can burn a tank in 30 minutes when I stomp on it.

I raced an IROC from light to light back in 1992. I was driving my 72 Duster (I will keep it short, Mustang site, not Plymouth). I had made it a 400 hp, 440 cu.in. big block car. I dusted the guy pretty quick. At the next light he said "what you got in that thing", it was fun. I know my 05 GT doesn't move like the Duster, but it handles 1000 times better.

If I keep it for more than a year, I think I will blow it.

Good luck with your car !!

Is it cool to quote yourself ?? I doubt it !!

With the 6-pk ( three two barrele carbs. ) it sounded awesome with your foot in it, but only got 6 mpg, and a lot less when you stood on it.

I am mush happier with the Mustang. Makes me feel like a kid again. Love those new toys.
