Hi + Need advice on 04 Cobra
Hi all, great forum!
This weekend I was out looking for a new car and I ran into a specialist dealer who was adament I took a 500RWHP 04 SVT Out. I said "No" thanks as I want a BMW M3 or similar, anyway after 10 minutes he twisted my arm and so we went out for a drive, now the only thing that was putting me off an older Mustang was Ford build quality and dated looks the Mustang had. I really wanted a newer more reliable and better built car hence an M3 or M5 as I have owned these before.
So he shows me a Nightfire Red 04 Cobra with 14K miles on it, I look around and think "hmm not my type of car" he starts it up and I think "interesting". We get in and 5 minutes later my heart is skipping beats!! I can't beleive the torque this thing had, now I come from the UK where I have owned multiple 500HP Skyline GTR's and high end M Car's but nothing felt like this ever!!!! This thing was hitting 100 so quickly and it was jumping the rev range due to the sheer torque!
Now I come to you and ask "why should I buy a 500RWHP Cobra for my everyday ride and not settle with something more subtle, my hear say's "COBRA, COBRA, COBRA every time it beats. But my head says "RELIABLE GERMAN MOTORING WITH SOME POWER"[&:]. I am seeking advice and stories on ownership, clubs, people and the whole nostalgia of owning one of these animals as I might go and buy this car this week.
Many thanks for reading and I look forward to your replies.

RE: Hi + Need advice on 04 Cobra
I've owned a Stage II HKS equipped R33 Twin Turbo, and yes the Cobra is ****ing awesome. Engine is stout, and reliable, DSS will support more if you need it, search under DSS Racing, and it's a ton more easy to build an easily streetable 950-1k car with Supercharger "Instant Boost". If you get this stang I highly recommend a Kenne Bell 2.8 L Comp Supercharger, it will dramaticly improve it, and Steeda supplies chassis\suspension. JBA is probably the best choice for exhaust if you want front to back. Also for a Tranny Consult AMP.
Otherwise yes the M3 is gutless in comparison to the Mustang Cobra 04 "Terminator" and the Skyline is pale shot compaired to it.
I'd buy it, but I already own one LOL

Now for my support of the Cobra in reliability terms.
First off unlike the M3 Cobra parts can replace anything front to rear for 1\4 or less the cost with no shipping waits over a week.
Also German Reliability is actually as of late been deteriourating, Ford has built some of the Strongest motors in it's Cobra's, and if not there are so many cheap and easy to find Shops that can supply and assist in any upgrades to further the already stout motor.
I myself have a DSS 302 Modular Motor on wait til they refine their Lv 20 CNC option and my motor as it stands already thumps 1k horsepower with the KenneBell and can easily be swapped to a 650hp street car that fly's by emissions and has acceptable gas mileage.
The M3 has a limited life span, once it's done your out of options more often than not, the Cobra can be rebuilt seven fold without any hitches, and there is enough info among us here to support any kind of desire you have, save to be beat by a m3 or Skyline, as we'd quickly scold you for being a moron! LOL You can't lose to a slower car!
