Default Newbie Question - Steering Vibration

I'm new to Mustangs. Considering getting one in the upcoming months. I test drove a used 2006 GT Premium (manual trans) with 12k miles on it the other day. This was the first time I drove a mustang (or any rear-wheel drive vehicle for that matter).

When i was driving it, there was a very noticablevibration in the steering wheel (pretty much constant). Just wondering if this is typical or if perhaps there was something wrong with the car. Didn't know if maybe it was just all that power waiting to get out.

Thanks for your help!

Could be many things...does it have stock rims/tires? May need to be re-balanced or if it does have aftermarket rims, may need to have the stud retainers removed...this is nothing more than a single washer type looking retained that it's left on from factory. Sometime if not removed when having aftermarket it will create vibrations. Welcome.

Thanks for the reply. The wheels were stock. The tires looked like they were in excellent shape (tons of tread). Maybe they were new tires and not properly balanced.

Maybe an alignment, if the previous owner hit a curb or anything like that.
