I decided to join because I have a 2005 Mustang GT (black). I bought mine in October 2004, and have been through 2 clutches!!! BUT, I still LOVE my MUSTANG.

How did you go through (2) clutches already? was it problems for the factory?? Is this your first stick?? Well anywho, welcome to the forums and enjoy the 05, I hope that you don't need anymore clutch work.

The first one was warranty and the second one I had to pay for $800.00. This is my second car w/ stick. I think it has to much horsepower for the clutch it comes with. I am looking for an aftermarket clutch, but I don't think anyone makes one yet.

I bet the GT runs great on the open highway between El Centro and Palm Springs..or on a few of those "wide open highways" out there east of the mountains.

I am at 900 miles now on mine, I can't believe it, but still my first clutch.

Welcome. I don't know what's going on with your clutch, but I have mine since October 2004, got 5,400 miles on it, I drive it hard and I don't have a problem with the clutch. If there is an issue with your clutch due to a manufacturer defect you shouldn't had to pay 800 for the second clutch. Are you sure you know how to drive stick and you are not doing anything wrong?

Damn, 2 clutches?! I wouldn't have paid for the second one, unless it was my fault.

Anyways, best of luck with the ride, hopefully you don't have anymore problems.
