new member,need advise
I have recently retired and am going to get back into the car hobby.I have never owned a 4.6 car before.I have 3 options and have no idea which is best.1.a 96 gt cont.38k,Ihave known the car and owners since new, only problem the wife is not yet convinced to sale, working hard on her.2.2004gt on e-bay 14k,lady owned, looks perfect, thinking about giving up,driving to Fla. to inspect and bring home if it is what it seems. Both cars are priced reasonable for what they are.3.giving up and ordering a new one, this would take all questions away, but I wouldn't have anything to do this winter in the garage.Anyone have any knowledge or warnings about these cars that you could share?I have been a mechanic all my life so everyday things don't scare me,but I have been out of touch for a while. Thanks in advance.

almost forgot,a 2003 gt,auto,18k,nearly totaled, neighbor across street owns body shop, had car left at shop, acquired for storage, rollover, almost every part dented but strangely, very little structure damage beyond windshield posts and top frame.a reach I know, but I really would have plenty to do this winter.

Even though it will be a rebuilt title I think it would be fun to pick up a car like that. It would be a nice project, plus it wouldn't be hard to find parts. If you already have a reliable ride and want to have a project I would go with the newest option you gave.

Go with the new mustang. The body style is the best (mine and many other's opinions) and rides the best. My comparisons: buddy has 2001 v6 vert, sis-in-law has 2003 v6, almost bought a 2004 GT, father has a 2002 v6 vert, and bro has a 2004 Mach 1. When any of them drive my car, they comment on how much better it rides. Go new and come up with another project to work on the garage this winter! My .02. Welcome to MF!

never really got down to talking price,he did tell me what he had in the car and so I think it should be reasonable.I will try to ask him in the next few days and get back to you.If you want to speak outside this forum, let me know how.I have went back to bidding on E-Bay because I see things I like better on almost every page,so I still don't know exactly what I am going to buy.
