Default New Mustang Owner w/ questions....imagine that

Hey Everyone,
I bought a 04 Anniversary Edition Convertible Mustang last week, it's bright red w/black top and interior (exactly like I asked a local dealer to find for me ). I do have a few questions I would greatly appreciate answers to though. First I noticed the top was kinda ugly to see when it was down and I wondered if there was a cover for it, researched and found out about boots, now I'm wondering if they came w/one from the factory originally? I've read some posts on here and it seems most vert owners don't even use them? Are they too much of a hassle to take on and off or is it just a storage problem? I think I am most interested in a hard boot but would like to know if it will fit inside the trunk and how likely it is to fly off while driving down the road.
My car hasfaded visors and I would like to know if it would be worth replacing them or should I simply just cover them up w/some CD storage?
Also I have photo shop but do not know how to use it well enough to play around w/racing stripes and if anyone likes to do this sort of thing I have an idea of what I want from another pic just need someone to draw it up.

Feel free to IM me sonora_hld@hotmail.com

Thanks ahead for the answers,

Hannah

From one beginner to another....I just got my new GT convertible yesterday and tried to put the convertible boot on, and it was very difficult! I tried for 5 minutes and then game up because I couldn't get it just right. I'm sure it will get easier, but that could be why it's not used that often. I will say that it looks pretty good without the boot too, so it's certainly not necessary to use. Also, you'd need to know that you're going to keep the convertible down for a while, as if you're putting it up and down a lot, the boot isn't going to work.

Also, I've been looking for replacement visors as well, as the ones on mine are a bit cheap and I don't really like them. If you find where you can get replacements, definitely let me know!

Well...from a convertible perspective...the boot that came with my 06 is not very easy to install. Not sure how difficult is for the 2004. As a matter of fact, I ended up explaining another forums member how to install it (step by step) on his 2006 because he was getting frustrated. With the boot on I had no problems with the thing flying off at low speed...under 30 MPH. I would not try going above that with that thing on the back. As for the visors, it would depend how's the rest of the interior and whether or not you would mind having new visors inside a faded interior...your choice. BTW, welcome.

Welcome.

The top down may look kind of ugly to you, but most other people are just jealously admiring your car with the top down.About the only time I do notice the look of the convertible with the top down, is when it is parked....and even then, I am stilla bit envious of the owner and not dwelling atall on the bootless look.

Red.....black top......NICE![sm=groupwave.gif][sm=signs007.gif]

Hi Hannah, Welcome to the forums.

I had a '99 GT Vert and never used the boot. Don't want one for my '05 either.
I like putting the top up and down without the hassle I guess.

Get yourself some cool sunglasses instead! Enjoy that car!
