Default Getting back to my roots!

What's happening? I used to own a 70 coupe, had the 200 6 in it when I bought it. Ended up putting in a 351C slightly warmed before I had to sell it. Well, that was 7 years ago, and it's time I had another car. I'vebeen shopping for a 94-98. I really wanted a saleen, but the price is just too high for me. I've seen a couple of late 80's/early 90's that have got my attention, but I think I am going to go for the 94-98. I guess I could always build a clone! I'll be looking around for a while sucking all the info off you guys as I am an old school carb type of guy.

So with that said, what year/motor should I go with for a good base for a street/strip car that will also serve as a daily driver? Opinions please
