Noob with new stang 1st need ideas
Hey guys, Im new here and just got my first stang. I was a chevy man but it was always somthing about the Mustang that fascinated me so I got one. Its a 1994 GT and I know nothing about mustangs. I dont know what has been done to this car but it has straight pipes with cats. Im not looking to win the Daytona 500, but I want to be nice and sound good doing it. Mustang Gurus tell me what can I do to this thing. what would you do?

Welcome aboard,
Always willing to help a convert who has seen the light.
First thing I would do is DRIVE IT for a while and see how you like it.
It will become apparent if you need upgraded tires, more HP, or better brakes.
As far as looks go, take a look at other stangs on the forum.
You may find you don't need much to customize your ride.
You may also find you need a 3rd mortgage.
LOL

Well I know for a fact I need more power. I just sold my 1987 Monte ss with a 498 bigblock and this Mustang is a tortoise compare to that, but now I have a stang and I want to trick it out. I want to make a good street machine out of this car what recommendation do you guy have for the new guy. Gears, what size?, exhaust,Clutch. ?????? please help me....

I'm pretty new to mustangs also but I'll just echo what I seem to be seeing on these forums. The biggest bang for the buck (not counting a super charger or turbo) would be a Cold Air Intake, then gears, then maybe an underdrive pulley, then /headers / exhaust and then maybe suspension. After those some what inexpensive mods you can move on to a turbo or super charger (neither of which is inexpensive). Your best bet is to check out the technical forum and talk with guys with way more experience than me.

Ok I went this morning to get my exhaust did. Was going to go with 40 series Flowmasters. Found out that this car has 2.25 H-pipe with 4 cats and no mufflers this thing has straight pipe. The muffler shop said to me that it would be pointless to add Flowmaster to the car with 4 cats and they weren't allowed to take them off unless they were replacing with new ones, something about $25,000 fine because of Tennessee emissions law. He said that it would quiet the car so much that I wouldn' even notice the Flowmasters. What can I do to stay emmisions legal [sm=bangbang.gif]. and still have the performance and sound that Im looking for with a 1994 Gt 5 speed. By the way I just purchased a FRRP 3.73 gear for the rear. but I purchased it for an 8.8 rear. Is this the right gear for 94 gt I mean is that the rearend size. Got a Mccloud clutch ysterday for it. Do I need to do more tuning to add bigger tb and injectors and cold air intake? Am I barking up he right tree? Help!!!!!!
