Default My new GT w/a pic

For several months I had been thinking about getting a new Mustang GT this spring, but had had no idea about the availability situation until early March, at which point there simply were none available and I was being told that an order might be produced in August or September. A couple weeks ago, I almost bought an available '05 Roush Sport with a manual trans, but really wanted an auto, as I have to do a lot of driving in heavy traffic in Detroit.

I had been calling every dealership in southeast Michigan, and one finally called me back and told me that he had a car coming in that had been ordered, but that he had a feeling the gentleman who ordered it might pass on it. Lo and behold, I got the call from him on 4/11 that the car was in and was mine if I wanted it. I stopped by on 4/12, saw it, drove it, and put a grand down to hold it, and took delivery on 4/13.

On Tuesday I was just a prematurely graying 49-year old lawyer driving a very sensible Jeep Liberty; now my sons (10 and 15), think I am the coolest dad on the block.

This car just makes me smile!

Awww, too bad you passed on the Roush- those are the only 05s I like, next to the saleen. Plus, it's a ROUSH!

But, I understand the traffic thing-- I drive in traffic a lot to school so I kinda like having an auto for that reason.

Great pics, looks shiny! Hope you enjoy it!

Nice choice !! Welcome to the forums. I drove my 05 GT from Indianapolis to Corpus Christi Texas two weeks ago. We got stuck in traffic outside Austin. It took 35 min. to go 1.5 miles. On the interstate.

My clutch leg was sore the next day !!

Enjoy your car. Nice pic's. I need to down load some from my trip, here is a cell phone shot on the beech along Mustang Island.

Thanks Higgie. Too bad about that leg. I get caught in that kind of traffic almost every day. The GT is still plenty of fun to drive with the auto.

Nice car; not a bad photo for a cell phone. My camera has a bit more megapixels, but is worthless for making calls. Here's one I took today with my Nikon D70 while my 10-year old son was in a three hour baseball clinic.

Welcome and that is a sweet car. I was in almost the same situaution. I did not start looking until about a week ago. Well being new to a Mustang 05' I thought there would be plenty. Well low and behold the only Mustangs I saw were the V6's. Nothing against them at all, I wanted to experience the GT. I saw a Roush on the lot and just had to have it for looks and because I was not going to wait for a couple of months for an 06'. I am learning to drive manual again which is a good thing and loving every minute of it. Again welcome aboard.
