Default Back in the "saddle" again!

Hi everybody! I've recently purchased an '02 Mustang GT convertible and am very excited to get back in the saddle of a performance car again! A brief google search found me this great forum, wow! I've been reading a few threads, it's pretty cool to have a great place to swap stories & think up new ways to hop up the pony eh?

This will be my FOURTH Mustang! My first was back in highschool I had a '71 Coupe with a 302 2v & auto trans. It cost all of $200 & was more rust than metal lol. When I got it I had dreams of restoring the old beast, but it really wasn't worth the effort. Years later I got a '79 fastback with again a 302 2v & 5-speed. Nice car, I put a lot of miles on that one. I traded up to an '86 GT fastback that was my sweetest ride to date. But it got rear-ended by some old geezer in a truck HARD, and got written off.. a very sad death to a nice car After that I switched to Jeeps for a while lol (a '89 then a '93). But, the yearning for SPEED finally bit me HARD this spring, so I'm now the proud owner of the '02 GT convertible. Ooohhh baby this summer's gonna rock! lol

So, I imagine the car is gonna make me very happy in just stock form for a quite a while. But once I yearn for more speed, is there a good sequence of upgrades that works great on these engines? This is my first 4.6, and I know very little about these engines. However I do know my way around a toolbox pretty good, so we'll see how things work out!

Anyway, just wanted to say HI today & start learning some new tricks to try out. Cheers!
