Default need some advice on buying 98 GT

OK, here's the deal, im lookin at a...

1998 GT
4.8L Jasper engine with 15,000 miles
Leather interior
5-spd, lowered, 17" Cobra R's

The thing is it has a rebulit title. My friends dad has a bodyshop and he fixed the car himself b/c he was originally going to get it for his daughter so it was fixed very carefully. I know this would affect resale value but the guy only wants $4500 for it. What do you all think?

Welcome to the forums. The salvage title can really come back to bite you. The biggest problem I know of is that most Banks won't loan on them. Even if they are perfect. So, If you don't need a loan, and can drive your value out of the car, it might be a good deal. HAve you checked kbb.com (Kelly Blue Book) for a true value, to see how good of a deal it is. Most, totalled cars sell really low, can be fixed up, and still be way under wholesale.

good luck !!
