Default Hi! About to buy an 08, little help?

hi everyone.
im weeks (if not days) away from getting an 08 mustang since they're offering 0% and im sick of driving around in a base model cobalt since thats all i could afford with my last job.

Quick question...
I dont want anything less than a GT with all the toys, but i just found a 08 Shelby GT conv. with the 4.6, not the 5.4 s/c.

Sticker price on this thing is 31,000 (i think) but it was marked up 15,000 and 44,xxx was written in marker on the sticker.

any ideas what the hell this is about?
i have no clue how dealers work and i believe he said that the 15,000 extra was negotiable. If i could snag it for 34,000 or less i'd prolly sign the papers right now.

anybody else have the shelby gt? if so how much did you sign for? (if you dont mind me asking)

i just dont wanna get in over my head so i figured this would be the best place to come.

thanks guys, hope to be cruizin around in a mustang soon like everyone else on here :-)

Hey welcome to the forums! In my opinnion I don't like the convertible as it takes away too much from the whole overall shape of the badass almighty mustang design. You also can't put any side louvers on the windows if thats your poison.

As far as the price you're facing, I guess that's either an offset for the 0% interest or they did some heavy mods to it. "World Ford" in S Florida puts body kits and paint jobs on their mustangs that mark them up a lot more than what they are stock.

I think the shelby GT is nice, but consider that the price of a Premium Mustang GT is around $27k-30k. You could take the extra money you don't spend and put it into your new mustang either with more power or aesthetics.

Best of luck and don't let the dealer handle you. They need your business not the other way around.

Hi sully, Welcome to MF.

The Shelby is an appearance package with a big market value adjustment.
A Saleen or Roush seems more collectible, but what do I know, I own a plain GT. Good luck in you search.

I have a friend that got that whole extra amount taken off. Good luck with the dealer.

Welcome to MF.com

Go to another Stealership... You can have it delivered from another state for that price

Welcome to the MF!

I would just get a premium GT and not waste your money on that one.
