mustang and me...
Hi,
My name is Jeremy and i am from Maryland. I am the proud owner of a 1989 25th anniversary mustang lx. I have a few minimal things done to it, like improved fuel, spark and a 3.73 posi rear. She isn't the prettiest pony on the road but she makes up for it with power. i hope to keep her around for a while which is why i am seeking out a community of wisdom.
you see i have a problem...this morning when i took her to work i noticed a high volume of sweet-smelling steam coming from the hood at stops (obviously burning coolant), and upon inspection am noticing what looks like a coolant leak between the right head and block on the cylinder closest to the firewall. Also noticed some little black spots in the coolant in my radiator, which is slowly draining from said opening. this leads me to believe i have a damaged head gasket and would like a few experienced opinions before i pump out the 200+ dollars for a full gasket kit/bolts for the upper half and headers that will replace the factory headers that are now rusting due to said leak (may as well since i'll be taking the heads off anyway).
hopefully i'm overlooking something foolish, but if not I'd like to get it knocked out as soon as possible and get my baby back up to speed. thank you for the insight and help. Also when i get some pictures i will post them.

as promised, a pic of my mustang.
dont have any good top shots because the owner before me decided to paint the car with a single stage paint then put clear coat over it, hence i have ugly zebra stripes and sun damaged paint.
