Welcome me?
HEH! Straight to the point right? LOL
Well my name is Brian, dont ask about the user name yet I will explain later... Im on my second rustang, first one was a 66 the current ride is a 65. I turned off lurk mode from over a year ago and figured it was time to join in on the fun! So yea a 1965 ford mustang super cobra jet, J/K lol. it is a 65 mustang but with a dinky 289 and whooped C4. the 289 is close to 300 at the f/w, so it isnt much from stock. Im in the process of building a new shortblock with all that fantsy forged piston crap and H beam rod something or another.
Anyway, yea rebuilding a shortblock. it shold handle 450-500 hp stupid thing wont go past 350 with the cam but for now it will do. Im a firefighter/EMT part time and a machinist full time. I have my own website which can be seen in the sig below, I love making things for my car as you will see. I also linked to a bunch of pictures from my webshots on the stang so feel free to look at them. Im almost done school in mechanical engineering, I would love to work for GM but they just cant get their act together. (BTW they time to buy GM stock will be after the take a dump, and restructure).

Hey, the current combo is: Stock shortblock, 10 to 1 compression, comps 268H, aluminum heads about equal to edelbrock performers they were bought from a racing buddy that has larger valves and a custom valvetrain( all the cool stuff), stealth 8020 intake, 2" 4 hole spacer, holley street avenger 570cfm, tri Y's with 2.25" dual exhaust, full MSD ignition, holley HP fuel pump. thru a slush box and to a 3.20 rear posi! lol
The new shortblock will be a 289 .030 over, stock crank refinished, H beam rods, forged speedpro pistons/ rings, all good bearings and gaskets with a melling HV oil pump. nothing special. plan is to swap everything from current motor to this new bottom end. and Im looking for about 10.5-11 to 1 compression. the setup shouldnt produce more then 350 hp at the FW. Problem is trans is holding me back from any more with a stock stall. bump that up then I will switch over from the girly man cam(268H) to a 282S then I can break more things.
