New Member-Have to have one more Mustang
I am brand new to the forum but not new to Mustangs. I have owned in order, a 1970 Mach 1-351-4V, 1983 SVO, 1986 SVO, and a 1969 GT 500. My wife owned a Mustang II when we got married and I traded the car for a hunting dog. My first Mustang was the Mach I which I bought new so I guess I am dated.
As far as fun to drive, I think the SVOs were great; however, it sure was fun to lay into the Shelby and hold on. My wife only got in my Shelby with me one time. I sold it ten + years ago for a fraction of what it would be worth now. I liked every Mustantg I ever owned and wish I still had all of them (except my wife's Mustang II, I liked the dog better).
By profession I am a grass farmer (turf). We perform almost all of our maintance and repair work so I have access to a well stocked shop including a mill and lathe. One of my hobbies is gunsmithing so machine work is not forignj to me.
I am begining research on restoring and turning up a '68 Mustang GT with a 302. I have been away from hot rodding for some time and things have changed a whole lot since the '60's and early '70's. I am looking for sugestions on good reading on the '68, suspension modifications and engine mods. My thoughts are supercharging but I am open to any and all suggestion. I want the end product to look something close to original but go like mad and turn a corner like it is on tracks.
I watched Steve McQueen in "Bullit" for the umteenth time and finally said, I have to have one more, just like that.
Thanks for your help and I look forward to particapiting in the discussion.
