Hey, I'm not a big mustang fan, but always liked the fast back models and always wanted to do a resto mod on one. I just came across a real solid 100% original 69 mustang fast back. It has been in the same family since 1977 and was in storage for over 20 years. They previous owner died and left it to his sister who was going to fix it up and give it to her son who was 16 at the time. It sat in the yard till he was 20 and then he chose to get a Toyota MR2, so she decided to sell the car to me for a whopping 1,500 bucks. I wasn't even in the market for a Mustang, but it was such a rare find at a crazy low price, I had to take it. The car has never been wrecked, modified, nor even really worked on. It's all there w/ minimal rust to deal with. My first thought was I'd resto-mod it, but being it's so original I almost hate to mess it up. If it wasn't in need of a paint job, it could qualify as a survivor car, but is a pain jane, bare bones, six cylinder is just boaring to me. what should I do ? is it a rare find that should be preserved or is the monitary value minimal ? if so, should I just build what I want out of it ?
