Talking New Member, Jaymie - 1966 Coupe

Hi everyone,

I literally JUST brought home my car today. I acquired it from my 82 year old grandfather. He bought it a few years ago, had it restored but fell ill and was not able to drive it. He knew how obsessed I was when it came to cars and how in love I fell with this car the moment I saw it, and with keeping it in the family, passed it down to me. She's a 1966 Mustang Coupe. Oxford White with two black stripes down the center. Has all the original emblems and such on the exterior. Interior is original Pony Package (what he told me it was called). Black Leather with embossed mustangs on it. Power steering, new power brakes and air conditioning. 302 was added after he purchased it. 298 originally installed. I actually had to drive it back home. 196 miles from his house to mine. I checked all the fluid levels and battery before I left but still held my breath and was VERY impressed at how she handled. 70-75 MPH the whole way home and not a single problem.

I have been around body shops my entire life and most of my friends and my fiancée, restore, fix up, race etc etc, all kinds of cars. This however, is the first classic car I have ever owned and I am much looking forward to many years with her.

I look forward to meeting some of you and getting all the advice my little brain can handle.

HAHA! That has already begun. When I got it back into town it took me an hour to get from the interstate to my house. Which usually takes about 20 mins. Everyone and their mama saw me driving it and wanted me to stop and let them see it. I followed everyone around like a hawk making sure they didn't screw anything up.
