hey-

Im 15 and im going to be buying a mustang as my first car in a few months(when im 16). I have my permit and all of that crap. but i dont know whatmodel to buy. I really want a v8 just cuz i lovepower. i am responsible enough to handle the power and not be a dumbass. i have 5000 to spend, ive been saving my money up and my parents said theyd pitch in half if i keptup a 3.7 gpaand pay my sport, so i will have 10,000 to spend on the car total. I have to pay for half of insurance. I was thinking about a 2001 mustang gt, and then keeping it stock until im 18 or something, then mod it up with saleen parts. so what year do you think i should get,and what model?thanks

Depends on what body style you like. You might be hard pressed to find a'01 GT for $10,000, but I guess it's possible. You can find a fox (look for a '90+ fox) for $5,000 easy in good condition, and you could spend the rest on upgrades and have a pretty quick car. If you like the foxes that is.

Welcome to the forums. Like it's been said, it just really depends on what body style you like. If it were me, I would go with a fox body and use the other part of the money for mods and what not, but I love the fox bodies. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
