Default Noob... In SO MANY ways

Hey Dudes,

Live in PA, work in NJ (all over the state, so for the Jerseyans out there, I've probably worked in or near your house). I'm not a "car guy," though would love to learn a few things to get me started, so bear with me.

Hopped on this forum to learn a few things, since everything I know about cars is limited to basic mechanical science. Reading through most of the threads on here is sort of like going onto a forum in Spanish. I can pick up a few words here and there, but most of it may as well be another language.

My past few cars were always 4wd, just to make sure I could make the long trek to work. While my wife was getting some maintenance done at the Ford/Toyota dealer, I just saw the new 2010 and on a whim took a test drive. Two weeks later I signed my life away on what I can only describe as part angry monster, part work of art on wheels.

Had never really considered seriously buying one, but it's just so freakin fun to drive. Anyways, I'll be the guy going crosseyed during your conversations, just trying to figure out what the heck a CAI is (okay I just learned about a Cold Air Intake) and what a RRRCAI is (Really Really Really Cold Air Intake, got it).

So that's it. Thanks for having me.

-X

Welcome to the forum and check the stickies at the top of the S197 section (2005+ sections etc) and they are very informative on the abbreviations we use and all the other "jargon" that i too learned myself while on the forum.
