Just bought a 64 1/2
I just bought a 64 1/2 "survivor" from my next door neighbor. It's sat in a garage for most of the last 20 years with little or no driving. 65K miles one owner.
My son and I are going to do a basic restoration of the car for his high school senoir project. My concern is that it is a 6 cylinder 170 ci engine and from what I can find out, doesn't seem to be worth much. I paid $4K for the car and it's driveable with only a little surface rust (California car). It's in pretty good shape right now. My son seems excited about the car and hopefully he'll like it. At least it will get decent gas mileage!
It's funny how almost all the mustangs for sale have V-8s when 58% of those sold had 6 I engines. Guess people don't care much about "original" engines. Appreciate any comments/advice. Thanks.
