New guy from Illinois
Hi all
My name is Jason and I've got a 1966 Nightmist Blue Hardtop w/200 engine....well, I will have in about 3 months. Long story short my Dad bought it from my great uncle to keep it in good hands...other side of the family has issues keeping things nice, or at all.
That was around 10 years ago and we were never able to do anything with it. It wasn't drivable at that time and since I haven't even looked at in a year let alone messed with anything on it I thought I'd join you here and learn, ask for knowledge, and maybe pass some on as I learn myself
I'm not a Mustang aficionado but I know my way around cars fairly well. I've never done a restoration or worked on a car this old before. The body and interior are in great shape and should not need any work. I'm betting the most work will be getting the engine, transmission, and wiring working again.
Does anyone have some preliminary steps I should do before getting started? I plan on using a digital camera for part identification as well as a great many small containers and baggies marked and what not. But what kind of things should I look for on this car to make sure it runs right and I don't waste time and money.
Thanks for hearing me out and helping me out as I am a newb to Mustang restoration.
