Default I used to be a Chevy guy...

I used to be a rabid Chevy fan - but after buying two GM vehicles that were total JUNK (2004 S-10 and a 2005 CTS-V) I decided its time to support the one American auto mfg that still has a set of ***** and didn't ask for a bail-out. The CTS-V had a V6 rear end in it which - SURPRISE! - couldn't hold up the power of the LS6. Awesome car, but I'll pass on having my dealer tell me "its not meant to take that kind of abuse". Don't even get me started on the S-10. It squeaks, rattles and shakes a MILLION times worse than any vehicle I've ever been in. Nevermind the bad wheel bearings, driveshaft universals, heater box, shocks, rear calipers...all before 60,000 miles!

That said...

A couple years ago I bought my father's 1984 GT. He was the original owner until 1990 when he sold it. In 2001 I found it and he bought it *again*. He built and put in a new motor (300 hp @ the wheels 5.0) and since I've had it, it's gotten a new World Class T-5 and a nice fresh smelling Canyon Red interior. Future upgrades will be an MSD Pro-Billet distributor, a Demon 725 cfm carburetor, and a 3.55 posi 8.8" rear end. Should be a quick ride :-)

I look forward to chatting with everyone on here. The new 2011 GT looks good...maybe its time I picked up another toy...

Congratulations on finally seeing the light and the error of your ways. Lol. These are great cars. I think you will find you've been missing out by not owning one.

Good luck an welcome to mf.

Well, after digging into the GT I'm finding that Ford definitely had things they did much better than GM (like the interior...).

Oh - side note - is there any way to PM people here?

I'd like to post in the classifieds but the forum won't allow me...I was going to PM a mod and ask why.

You're too new. You have to have at least 50 posts to post in the classified sections. It might be the same for PM's too.

I'll have to take some pictures - maybe tomorrow.

Thanks all for the warm welcome! May the bench racing begin!

I think its 50 posts and one month of membership after the 50th post, but I could be wrong. Welcome to the forums!
