Mopar man in a Mustang?
Hi there! Name's Ed, I'm 40 years old and reside in sunny Florida. I really don't have any brand loyalty when it comes to cars really. I've owned them all at one time or another. Fords, Chebys, Chryslers and imports... My current love, I've had since '03, is my '98 Dodge Intrepid ES. The Intrepid is part of Chrysler's LH body line of cars (discontinued in '04 and replaced by the rear wheel drive LX line (Charger/Challenger/Magnum etc)) I've been an active member of a couple LH based forums for about 7 years now, so I'm no stranger to these vbulletin based boards either.
So I come here with some questions. I've recently acquired another car. A 1993 Ford Mustang with a 4 banger. The motor has jumped time as verified by the belt loosely hanging behind the timing cover. Is this an interference engine or no? Just wondering if it's worth trying to redo the timing belt and get it running for now, or should I wait and start 5.0 shopping and turn this thing into a project car... I'm pretty sure it was the last year they made the Foxbody, correct me if I'm wrong. I've heard two different sides to whether I can stick a 5.0 in it. One says the suspension etc is the same, another says they are different. Any major suspension dos or don'ts when doing a 5.0 conversion? Body and frame are the same, no?
I'll post some pics of the little red pony shortly...
