Hi Y'all,

I've been lurking on the site for about 3 weeks. I have been gradually growing interested in the Mustang when I saw the '10 styling refresh. I know that some people don't like it but it's the first one I've liked since the 60's. I did some research on the '10 and really couldn't justify the purchase. When the '11 arrived, the new engines got me to look again. I bought a couple of mags and was simply blown away by what the critics (turned fans) were saying. And then the project cars being profiled were unreal. Finally, this past week, I went for a test drive of a GT/Brembo/3.73 car and fell in love. So, I'm seriously considering buying one but thought I'd "ask the man that owns one" because there are so many options and packages, I'll need help picking one out.

I've been a subscriber to Grassroots Motorsports for about 10 years (and have another 7 years left on my current subscription.) I like to autocross and was last campaigning my '03 Cooper. That was a few years ago now. I was also a moderator for the racing forum at NAMotoring.com. I stopped both for reasons I won't go into right now. But I'm thinking now would be a good time to start again and a new car would be a great starting point.

My username is one that I've been using for a few years. And I was very pleasantly surprised to 'discover' the Terlingua Racing Team barking rabbit logo. It makes me think that I should consider building a rip-snorting 3.7L V6.

I'll finish up by saying that I've never felt so immediately comfortable in a car as I did in the GT. I was able to adapt to the clutch within 3 shifts and everything seemed to just be right where I expected it. The handling was very predictable (as were the burn-outs), the seat and ride were very comfortable, and I found it very easy to drive at all speeds. I can't wait to get one in the driveway.

Hey HareBrained...first of all, welcome to the MF, from beautiful British Columbia, Canada!

Well, if you're plannin' on a V6, there are tons of mods available

Everyone, thanks for the warm greeting. And thanks for the link Larry.

I have to agree, BC is beautiful. The wife (who was born in Calgary) and I spent a week on Vancouver Island (near Courtenay) and Salt Spring Island. And we've been to Victoria several times. Vancouver is also very interesting.

Welcome to MF from the Great White North! Post pics of your new ride after you pick it out / pick it up. I test drove an '11 V6 with the six speed manual and the MCA package. Black with the tan leather interior. Great Car! I loved it, and decided that a Mustang V6 could very well be in my future.
