Blue oval noob from Ft Bragg
Hey all, figured I'd check in & say hi:
I just bought my first ford- not that I haven't had a few before, but this is the first one I've actually paid for. I found a 1-owner tripple black 90 GT Convertible in pretty good shape with 112k on the odometer. The interior is nice (other than the leaning seat) the top is new (but needs a new back window...), and the body is fair- a few dings & a shriveled right side ground effect is all. The car runs & drives great. The steering's a bit loose, but I'll replace the rack & fix the A/C after I get done with the issues presently at hand...
At first glance it just seemed like a few minor electrical bugs- but now I'm in a tail-spin trying to debug what seem to be mustang specific problems, as I've never seen these issues in almost 20 yrs of owning chevy's & wrenching on other makes & models.
Before last week I still owned 2 Vette's, and in the past 17 years I've had 24 or 25 Iroc Camaros. Usually I find Nice cars w/ issues for a steal, fix'em or mod'em, then get bored & sell them & then move on to another. I've never had a mustang before- driven a few late 80's/ early 90's GT's, but never pulled the trigger on one for myself until now.
Though I'm not turning wrenches for a paycheck anymore I still do more than my share. I'm up to speed on diagnostics (my solus is v9.2) & most of my talent lies in electrical troubleshooting- HOWEVER: most of my experience is on Camaro's & Corvette's. Where GM OBD-I , and everybody else's OBD-II diagnostics have been relatively easy to find info on via alldata & troubleshooter functions on my scan tools, I'm not finding flow charts or component specific diagnostics for what I'm dealing with on this car.
If anyone is inclined I have a thread in the 5.0L (1979-1995) Mustang area: https://mustangforums.com/forum/5-0l...tics-help.html
Thanks!

Welcome to the board!
I see you have betrayed Chevy, but hey, at least you drove American before coming to the World of 'Stangs!
Too many other folks are too busy screwing up our great American country by buying non-American.
