Yes I am concerned with the set-up on the Camaro all around. The auto option with lower HP was unfortunate. I know they are looking to keep out of the gas guzzler tax range but c'mon...they could've found another way I think. Also the weight is too much, being from the heavy zeta platform from Australia was nice for cruising but not performance. I love the look of the Camaro, but...the low roof KILSS the outward and rearward visibility. That for me was the kicker...add in the mustang getting the 5.0 performance being pretty close not to mention the drive in the 3.73 geared car I bought sold me on it...oh and the sweet deal I received...500 under retail for my car on trade (traded in a 2006 SS/SC with GM stage 2 and some other goodies) plus 2000 off of MSRP on the 5.0....I couldn't be more pleased. Not to mention 'cost' for accessories and ford racing parts... now I need to get going on the brembo brake order. :-)

Speaking of which I'm going to do a search but if you fellas know if my stock 18x8 will allow room for the brembos and the max width tire for that wheel that would be great. Also looking to find a strut tower bar that matches the brembo package. I might just add in wheels down the road but would like to avoid it or have time to do that in the summer.

Thanks again folks, I'm surprised to love this car so much being a Ford as I was pro GM but man...this is the best surprise I've had in a while.

Howdy,

I'm also a chevy guy who snubbed the Camero for a Mustang. No regrets whatsoever

Welcome to MF from the Great White North!

I too am a former GM and Camaro guy. I had almost all of the same observations about the Camaro that you had. The interior, the seating, and the outward visibility killed it for me. I love the way the car looks on the outside, but I just could not see myself living with and driving it every day. The Mustang is a much better thought out car. And the 2011 5.0 is (so far) the best of the S197 generation. Congratulations! Now post some pics of your new steed!

Thanks again folks...let me know the best way to upload phots here. Otherwise I'll see what I can do with phot bucket or something similar.
