RP, from what I have heard actually users say, will be good for 10K miles before you need to change it. RP is a true synth oil, while the Full synth Motorcraft oil is not a true synth oil, and thus cannot last as long a RP or AMSoil, or some other true synth oil.

Now, just like everything else, if you drive your car hard and you really stomp on the gas often, you will break down the oil faster, even true synth oil. In which case, you will have to change it earlier than 10K miles.

Thanks, all.

I drive almost 100 miles a day on the freeway and accumulate miles fast... Would you choose to go RP?

I might add that I have the extended service plan, which includes oil changes; maybe I should put my money elsewhere?

if you have esp for maintenance then dont bother putting in a different oil. regaurding the tune/dealer questions, if you have the tune on the pcm then yes we can tell it's there, some tuners dont even allow our scanner to communicate. BUT if you return it to stock before you leave your house then drive it to the dealer on the stock tune, there's no way to see that it's been changed so you are good to go there.

dont worry about voiding a warranty it takes a lot to do that on a gas engine.

Thanks, ctgreddy.

I haven't gotten a tuner just yet unfortunately... funds are a little tight.
