Default new mustang shopping

I just sold my 72 Porsche after restoring it. after looking at BMWs, Camaros and Audi, I have decided on a mustang. I drove my friend's 07 GT(CS), and a coworker's 04 Cobra...

I want the mustang to be my daily driver as well as my weekend twisty carver.

of course I will also want to do some mods in the future.

now my only question is GT Premium or a V6(MCA pkg + performance pkg)

wish me luck in my search to the right car.

Welcome to MF from the Great White North!

Personally, I'd go with the V8. It's just something about the rumble of a V8 that does it for me. Although I test drove a 2011 V6 MCA, and it was very sweet aw well.

Have fun with your search!

Welcome to the forum.

Personally, I can't imagine not getting the GT; but I suppose a supercharged V6 would be pretty cool too.

Welcome to the board!

If you can, I say get the GT.
For a V8, the 5.0 Coyote actually has some MPG improvements over the 4.6L V8, getting as much as 26 MPH highway as advertised (I personally have observed over 28 MPG avg on a pure 100mi hwy trip at 65-70 MPH).

But if you get the 3.7L V6 MCA, you will not be disappointed with that car either. The 3.7L V6 is a major improvement over the 4L V6 of earlier years, and is advertised at 305 HP! And with some mods, it can pump out in excess of 400 HP! Great engine for only a V6, and with just a few bolt-on mods and tune, you will be spanking 4.6L V8s all day!

I just thought of something else: Does MCA membership offer any alphabet plan discounts on the GT Premium?
I know it does on the MCA edition V6 trim, but I do not know if it extends into the GT trim levels.

I'm not sure about about the MCA club discount. I get X-plan through my job. and if I can work a good enough deal, I'll get a GT convertible and be done

I thought of the v6 vert, but I'm finding few, manual v6 verts, and the performance pkg isn't even an option... how hard/expensive would it be to replicate the performance pkg into a non performance pkg car?

I typically keep a car a long time, my current daily has been in service since 1999. thanks for all the kind words, I hope to be making the move within the month, but I travel a lot for work and I'm having a hard time finding time to go, test drive, and negotiate.
