Hi; Brand new to the Mustang Forums...I have a 2000 Mustang, nothing special about it..love it and its mine..just got it...third Mustang...had a 67, 96, and now my 00..anyway, it has right over 119k miles on it..drives great...I have a question though, I have noticed that the engine revvs really high some times rpms get up over the 2 mark when I am shifting from say 2nd to 3rd...also, I have noticed some pinging in the engine when accelerating in from 2nd to 3rd or from 1st to 2nd...I don' think that's normal...there is also a high pitched whine when driving the car and a rubbing sound coming from what sounds like the wheels..sometimes front sometimes rear..I can't pinpoint the sound...also, when starting the car the RPM seems awfully high...up in the 2 mark and then drops to 1.5 then finally down to 1...I also seem to be buring through gas quite rapidly...so...did I get a lemon or are these fairly common problems with the car?? I was smart enough to get a 2yr extended warranty thru the dealer..Could It be the clutch or transmission??
