not quite sure what you mean by "picture attachments" but i think you might have to have 50 posts or something like that to get into certain areas of the forum?

You should be able to upload pics into your album under your profile, then place a link. That or link to an imageshack account or whatever. It didn't give me any trouble after I joined (but maybe I'm just special ).
