Default Future Mustang Owner?

Hello everyone, my name is Derian and i'm new to these forums. First off, good day to everyone from sunny Florida.

I just turned 16 on the 22nd and I get my license on the 20th of December!

I'm looking to buy a Ford Mustang, definately used because I don't have more than 10 grand to spend but I don't know if I should go to a dealer, buy it online/Ebay? Or what to do.

What do you all think I should do here? Oh, and i'm not looking for any "new" mustang's, a 98-04 is fine.

Look on Craigslist and Autotrader.
Try to avoid dealerships, because you can usually get better deals from a private seller.
You should be able to pick up a very clean low mileage New Edge GT ('99-'04) for the price range you are looking at.
You could also find a higher mileage '05 V6 Mustang.

Congrats and Welcome to MF.

Welcome to the forums. Def go with 99+ as that's when the engines changed. You'll have a lot more options for efficient future mods.

I got your message here are a few I found in the Tampa area.
Not sure where in Florida you are located.

2001 V6 Vert 70k miles
http://tampa.craigslist.org/hil/cto/2726730194.html

'04 V6 51k miles for $8k
http://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/cto/2725582256.html

'02 V6 $6k
http://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/ctd/2725072840.html

When you are looking on Craigslist type in mustang in the search bar, then on the drop down menu on the next page (directly beside the search bar) select trucks/cars - by owner. This will give you a list of car on there only posted by private sellers.

Used cars have really been pricey lately, its a bad time to be buying a used vehicle.
That GT you posted looks clean, but that price just seems high for an 11 yr old car.

That one you posted is kinda high I think, although it looks clean. I looks like the second owner used it a a weekend car, so it was probably babied then. If you do your research you could round up some other similar year mustang prices and try to talk them down. But I wouldn't pay 10k for it.
