Very hard clutch
Hey everyone. i have an 88 stang and the clutch is very hard.. ive checked the clutch pressure plate and disc all look ok. the through out bearing is new. Its hard enough it cracked my firewall.. ive since reinforced it but still have a very hard pedal... any advice or suggestions.

Do you mean that your clutch got hard after you changed the old one? If so, then what you feel now is how hard it is supposed to be. The old one was worn to all to hell. The thrust bearing was worn etc.
Or do you mean that one day, it is normal, and the very next day, it just got hard and you never changed a thing? If so, you should check out the Fox sub-forums for help with those. I think those are the B&W T5 trannies, but I could be wrong since the Foxes were revised I think 4 times throughout the production life of that generation of Mustang chassis.
If your clutch was worn and you changed it and now it is alot harder (i.e. normal clutch pressures) to depress, just give it time. A few weeks and your legs will be strong enough to press the pedal in like it's nothing. Or hit the gym and do some leg exercises, LOL.
