I Wonder If im the Youngest here...
Hey there. Im Francis Leroy Young III, friends call me Frankus. Im 18 and currently working before I start college. For my 16th Birthday my dad (who is was big into his 71 Buick Skylark) got me a 65 Mustang in decent condition with a blown engine (We found a valve stem in the oil pan for god sakes!). I was very excited but new little about cars at the time. After a few months my dad came up with a plan to take the engine out of the 83 Ford Econoline van (Industrial 302 V8) and put it into my car. After a week of insanity the deed was done. However, the manifolds came real low because it being a van so it scraped the bottom over speed bumps. No biggy. I drove it to and from highschool for 2 years and after a radiator upgrade it ran relatively well. It hasent really been used for about 3 months and its beginning to show signs of what we call "coastsiditis," aka rust holes. I got new patriot headers for my last Bday and as soon as I make the money (im just starting a job) im going to buy a new exhaust system and a tig/arc combo welder. I want to have most of this thing done by the time I transfer from community to state college in 2 years.
Wow that was long. Oh, btw its white and the girl who had this car last had her screwball friends "restore" it. I fail to see somehow that nailing replacement carpet to the floor, cutting away the dash pad instead of just unscrewing it, and wedging screws in to hold the headlights in as "restoration." So my project will be more like a "reversal of stupidity" than fighting father time.
So thats me and my car. Ill post the rust holes and such when I get the chance.

RE: I Wonder If im the Youngest here...
Well, I drove over to the harbor to get my stang because my parents will be using their cars. When I pulled up to my car there were piles of bird crap all over it. Funny thing that no other cars around it had any. So I drove it home (steering was real tight and brakes were touchy) gave it a 2 minute wash, and took these pics before the sun went down.
Here it is, suds and all.
There was a time i was considering making a K in metal shop.
Little gouges in the side due to my little brother's erratic door openings.
You can tell in this pic, but 2 of the tailight screws are missing. Oh, and hole #1.
Heres a plus, Infinity speakers. Theres hole #2.
Heres the ugliest part of the car. Holes 3 and 4.
Im fixing this soon. This is my 2 inch ground clearance speed-bump-buster.
