Default Oil leak on a 1989 mustang

I recently purchased a 1989 mustang gt 5.0. When I changed the oil it only had about 1 quart of oil in it. I changed the oil and filter and added 5 quarts of oil. Now the oil level is between 1/2 to 1 inch above the full level on the oil stick. I stopped by the local Ford dealership, he gave me the catalog # for the oil stick and it has the correct oil stick. When I purchased the car there were no leaks, now I have oil leaking out of the bell housing and oil on the passenger side strut (kind of like a strut has blown out). I would appreciate any help if anyone has ever seen this problem.

Welcome to the forum. BTW oil leaking out of your bellhousing is "usually" rear main leak.
