Thx guys. Yes there is alot of Mustangs here in all kinds of versions, cobras, roush, boss you name it.. They are counted by hundreds, in fact i remembered a article about there being around 2-3 cars per person here and our population is around 330.000ppl. If you would calculate the mustangs from the beginning i think that they would be way over thousand... Also the maybe the funny fact that there are slightly less than 100 antic Mustangs from 1967 and a little bit newer. Mostly reason for the high number of stangs here is that around 2005 to early 2008 our currency (krona) was at the best point 46 kronas for 1 dollar. So that means that average person with 300.000 kronas after tax per month could easily import cars cheap from Europe and America. But after the bankruptcy the krona fell to 130 kronas for 1 dollar so the prices almost tripled. But things are in a better course now and the dealerships are getting the selling numbers fast up again.
And also although we live nearly in the arctic the winters here in south Iceland are getting pretty crappy.. Even the biggest ski area here which is about 15 miles from Reykjavik didnt manage to stay open for more than 4 days a few years ago and all the years around that had slightly more opening days. But this last winter was the crasyest from 1998, with almost 3 weeks of every car getting stuck and just the 4x4“s getting to work when the streets werent cleared with snow plovers.
And yes we have alot of American cars here, maybe the fleet is around 60% european, japaneese and korean cars, and the rest is american. And most of the american cars is pickups and most of them is Ford“s.
