Default New guy in Mississippi

Hey. My name is Thomas. I live in Jackson, Mississippi and I recently bought a 1970 Mustang coupe. It's got a 289 and a 4-speed.

I picked it up off craigslist for fairly cheap. It's been in a state of restoration for awhile, you can tell. The previous owners have done quite a bit of work to the car... It looks like they've done most of the hard work. The suspension is new, the front end has been rebuilt, the engine is fresh, the whole fuel system looks to have been replaced and upgraded, the clutch is new, the exhaust is new, new wheels and tires, all the exterior chrome is new, all new grill assembly and trim, new dash cover, new console, carpet, steering wheel, and quite a bit more. The body is straight but it is in primer. I have all the equipment so I am going to paint it myself as soon as it warms up a bit. Probably going to paint it silver. The interior is in pretty good shape as alot has been replaced already. I just ordered some TMI seat upholstery to recover the front buckets and the PO provided me with all new seat cushions.

I've got some work to do with the gauge cluster. The original gauges don't work. I do have a good condition deluxe gauge cluster and new glass for them so I will change all that out soon. I need to change out this accelerator cable as the pedal seem stiff and not very responsive. I am going to take some time and go through these brakes just to be on the safe side.

Anyway, thanks for reading my stuff. I hope I can be a valued member of the community.

Hi Thomas/Magnes from Mississippi....great to see another newbie on here....you obviously have figured out how to post here. Do you know the difference between posting a new thread and is a reply what I am doing right now Anyway....I joined because I would like to communicate with one of the members who seem to have lots of experience with Stangs. I have a 2006 GT that I just purchased. Very exciting.
