As far as shifter acting up, do you mean the quick shift?
That had me all goofed up the first few days I owned my Mustang.
I'm not really sure what the quick shift feature is, but this is what is going on.
I went out to VMP's drag strip near Petersburg two nights ago(I had already been out there two weeks ago without any trouble), and had an issue once with unsettling amounts grind with the clutch on the floor during a 2-3 shift, two clean runs, then I had the same issue twice with the 1-2 shift in later runs. Since then, if I put it in first with the car sitting still, I have to use a lot more force to pull back into neutral if the car is still sitting still. The grinding only crops up during hard straight line acceleration, I did not have any trouble with it at Langley(circle track), or during normal driving. I have a thread going in the 3.7L tech section and was told that replacing my shifter would likely solve this.
Thanks for the welcome, this forum has been a great research tool for several other questions I have had in the past.
