New member, and having problems with my 07 mustang :(
I live in Houston, TX, and unfortunately I don't know much about cars in general. I'm trying to learn. I have a 2007 V6 Mustang with about 60,000 miles on it.
The Check Engine Light came on a few weeks ago and the place I took it to said it was the gas cap. I replaced the gas cap (for the second time this summer). I think they reset this system because the CEL was no longer on. Well, recently, the light came on again. I had not recently gotten gas, and it was screwed on tight. I am going to have it tested once again. If it reads that it's the gas cap again, what else could be wrong?
I'm reading online on various sites that it could be an oxygen or fuel sensor gone bad. Also one of my co workers said it could be a solenoid valve. Another person told me I'm probably looking at 300 to 400 dollars to fix the problem (which I really don't want to have to do of course). Anyone have this similar issue?
