Default 2010 Mustang GT Exhaust tips

I have a 2010 Mustang GT and they guy I bought it from was planning on tricking it out with his son but his son got married and bought a mini van. He gave me exhaust tips for a GT 500 with the car but I was wondering if anyone can tell me the advantage of installing these tips from a 500 or just keeping the stock ones on.

Welcome to the forum.

The tips are purely visual/appearance mod.

Hey Matt,

Welcome to the forums and great question!

An axle-back exhaust is mainly for sound/ visual purposes. The GT500 mufflers sound a little deeper, and slightly louder than the stock GT mufflers but not by much.

If you are looking to drastically change the tone, I would look towards an after-market exhaust.

Hope this helps and let me know if I can be of any more assistance!

Welcome.

As has been said, tips are just cosmetic. This is the same for all vehicles unless they are resonator tips - and even then their functionality is questionable.
