Default 2013 Mustang GT Auto -- Race Track advise

Hi Guys I'm heading to the track for the first time to night and wanted some advice on which modes I should run in. From reading other post I see that there is a "sports mode" (advance track / Stability control) and also a "sports shifting mode" and "select shifting mode".

Any suggestions on which combination would give me the most power and best track times?

Also for "sports shifting mode'' and "select shifting mode" can you go in and out of these modes by moving the shifter back to D and then back to S while you are driving or should only change between D and S when the car is stopped?

Thanks for your input!

Welcome to the forum, sorry I can't help with your question as I'm not to familiar with the newer Stang's. But I'd just start playing around with the settings. Make 3-4 passes on each mode and see what the car likes. Good luck

You could also try starting a thread in the Tech section for your year car, also there's the Street/Strip section, but that's been kinda quite lately.

1) Is your car stock? It'd make a huge difference if you have mods, particularly suspension and tires.

2) You can only shift From D to S in 3rd or lower.

3) +1 on Notch's advice, no matter what we all say, you'll get better info by testing it out. Plus, experience >>> anything else.

GT stock but with the bembo brake package and 19" wheels. IT has z rated tires but not sure if that came with the package or was aftermarket. I bought the card used. I did upgrade to a regular K&N filter.

Thanks for the tip on D to S. I wasn't sure if I was good for the car to toggle back and forth while the it was moving.

One thing make sure the traction control is completely off.
Good luck and have fun.
