I have a 2000 Mustang and teh dome light only comes on when the passenger door is open. When I open the driver's door the light won't come on. Is there a sensor that could be stuck and how do I fix that?

there is a switch that detects if the door is open in the latch on each door. the panel has to be removed to access it. its pretty common for those to stick. i have had good luck spraying some liquid wrench into the latch where the striker fits and then slamming the door shut 5-10 times. sometimes this will free up the switch and it will start working again, if it doesnt the switch or the wiring is most likely to blame, then the door needs to come apart.
