Default 1967 project car value assistance needed

I am looking at a 1967 mustang coupe hard top. It has no motor or tranny the body is straight and glass is intact. Original front seats are gone and chrome strip and symbols on the sides are missing. Had a V-8 not sure which one until I get VIN number. Haven't been able to find a lot in this condition for a price comparison. Guy want $2500 OBO. I am getting a project car to rebuild from scratch. Any help on value or things to look for would be greatly appreciated.

This is a hard one, being that we can't really see the car. If it truly is a arrow straight body needing minimal work,I could see that price being fair for a roller.

Welcome to the forum by the way, good luck in your decision.

Yes, if the body is straight and good AND you want to build one from the ground up it would seem in line.
But you will probably end up 4-6K more into the car when done than the car will be worth.

I went and took a thorough look at it yesterday and the body is straight and all the doors hood and trunk lid are lined up and fit well. there is some surface rust but all the panels even the floor pan is solid. I realize that if I restore I will end up a little behind in value but want to have a project for me and my son to work on. Thanks for the info and if anyone has anything to add please do. This is my first major project and am seriously look forward to it. Glad I am finally at a place in my life I can do this. vroom vroom!!!

A good place to look on the older mustangs is under the car the floor pan, toe board, and the floor frame rail. Especially for that kind of money. I bought my 68 lucky for only $700 but it definitely needs floors in it.
