Default Decent deal? 06 Mustang GT Premium 65k miles $13750

Hello folks,
I'm considering buying an 06 Mustang GT Premium. It's got 65k miles, automatic transmission. The Carfax shows one accident with 'moderate front panel damage no airbag deploy.' Looking at the car, it was cleanly repaired. The Carfax does show regular maintenance was done, as well. The price is $13750.

Is this an acceptable price? I've looked at tons of similar cars and they all seem to retail higher in my area. I have access to private dealer auction data, and the MMR (average wholesale price) ranges from 10-13k, the only recent sales with similar mileage being closer to 12-13k. This is the cost that dealers are paying to buy at wholesale in my area.

I'm primarily concerned with the transmission. It felt fine driving it, no stickiness between gears, but a friend told me he has heard of people with bad experiences with the transmission.

What do you guys think?

Welcome to the forum.

As for price, I can't help, as you said, depends on area. But it really only depends on what you are willing to pay.

And the trannys, I'd search this forum for others who may have had problems. I haven't heard of any though. Good luck

I ended up going for it, it was the best deal I could find in my state, including private dealer auctions because of the rarity at this price range. I checked it out as much as possible - made sure the oil looked clean, exaust seemed to be burning clean, no problems with gears in the test drive. I'm thinking about finding an extended warranty just in case - from what I've been able to research, the only big issue people sometimes have is with the transmission, and a rebuild can be expensive.

Hi there. I ended up going through a dealership - I checked the wholesale and they made about $600 on me. Not a bad deal.

Welcome! I had a atoning my 07 and I've never heard anyone complain about these transmissions. The 11-12 manuals that's a different story!
