Default Hello! Ohio dude, vet, stuck in Cali, looking to learn more about mustangs

Help all! I am coming mostly from the jeep world (I've been into a lot of other automotive a too but..) and in the jeep world there are these codes to refer to certain years. Makes things easy. Like, a 96-06 Jeep Wrangler is a TJ, etc. what I want to know is..

Is there an easy way to reference the 98-04 mustang? (One of my favorites aside from the really old stuff or pretty new stuff)

Or even more ideally the 01-04

And maybe a way to reference the factory SC'd cobra from those years?

99-04s are known as new edge. 94-98s are SN95 cars...but technically the new edge mustangs are still SN95 but with some updates.

The Terminator Cobras are the supercharged 03-04 Cobras. 99/01 Cobras are naturally aspirated, and for the year 2000 there is the (red coupe) Cobra R thats basically a track trimmed machine.

Welcome to the forum, good luck in finding a stang.

I'd also like to add the all powerful 79 - 93 Mustangs, also known as the Foxbody. They saved the world ...........

Ok, so a "terminator Cobra" would be the term i could use in talking to other mustangs. this is actually my "wish car." its the super bad *** version of the mustangs that were the "hot new mustang" when i was in high school. I've always had a love for the cobras but prefer the factory SC, not that i can afford either in a reasonable time frame. i just wanted to know what i should call it on my five year plan.

its actually funny you mention that because those beasts pretty much dominated my stop light to stop light years as an enthusiast, i remember a guy that lived down the street from me too that had a beautiful red one with those chrome cobra wheels and T-Tops.. that would be an honestly more likely mustang for me and my budget. how hard is it to find a T-top fox body? any things to look out for if I'm shopping for one?
