Potential Buyer in Texas
Greetings. I've been shopping and test-driving some of the new sport coupes out there including the Stang. I've got a '13 Altima 3.5 that I'll be turning in at lease end in about 9 weeks and it's time to drive something a bit more interesting. This forum has been a good source of info.
I've had a few Mustangs in the past, but they've all been 1965 models (2 notchbacks, 1 fastback) with 289 engines. Wish I'd have kept the fastback (which had factory air).
So far, I've checked out (in order):
- 2016 Ecoboost Premium AT
- 2016 GT Premium AT
- 2016 Accord V6 Coupe (Touring) AT
- 2016 Camaro RS V6 LT2 AT
- 2016 Camaro SS LT2 AT
I'm known to folks at the local Ford and Chevy dealerships, so the test drives of those were toss me the keys, no salesperson and rather lengthy. So far, my favorites were the two different flavors of the Mustang. There were things I liked about both models of the Camaro as well (the SS is a beast in track mode, the V6 pulls strongly), but I'm a tall guy and the edge of the center console was such that it became uncomfortable for my right knee after about 30 minutes.
In the next week or two, I'll probably see about spending a couple of days with each of the two Mustangs to get a feel for which of them would best suit my needs as a daily driver.
Cheers,
Floyd
