Motor Swap
Hi everyone I new to the forum so bare with me if I sound like a rookie, I have a 1990 Mustang GT Foxbody I got it at and Auction, it now has A 1996 Cobra motor built aluminum heads, cold air mad ignition, long tube headers a cam not sure what size. My question is do I need to change the computer? Because I have engine class light on for all emission related issues and it back fires at every start up before engine warms up. Pls any advise?

Welcome to the forum.
Are you sure it's a "96" Cobra motor ? That would be a 4.6L modular motor which isn't a very popular swap. If it is, then you should be running the 96 Cobra computer.
If it's a "93-95" Cobra motor, then that's a 5.0L block which is more than likely what you have. You'll want an computer for that motor.
But, before you get ahead of your self, check what codes you have. It could be as simple as a vacuum leak. Very easy DIY fix.
And just a reminder, any other Tech type questions should in the appropriate Tech section. We'll be more than happy to help you out in there. Good luck
