Default Help me decide... 2016 GT or 2011 V6 with a Supercharger

Hey Guys!

I was getting ready to pull the trigger on a new 2016 GT with the performance package when I was offered a great deal on a 2011 V6 Premium with a supercharger and a long list of aftermarket goodies. I know the owner very well and I know the 2011 was done right and never abused. The 2011 has 375hp at the rear wheel. It'll cost me less than HALF the price of the 2016.

My thought was to get the 2011 and still have a ton of cash left over to lift my truck and even consider upgrading my Wide Glide with a Road Glide.

Any thoughts/opinions?!

Thanks!!!

Welcome to the forum.

Tough call on which one to go with. I was going to suggest the '16. But the '11 comes in at half the price, albeit a little more high strung in the performance area. I'd let the money decide lol.

Good luck

2016 GT V8 all day long. No comparison in the quality build of the two cars, ride comfort, build quality, sound, etc.

2011 was the first year for the 5.0, and seems to be the year with issues of various kinds (#8 cylinder seemed to be a problem on that year - Ford made some changes in later model years). As a first year for a new model like that I'd opt for the 2016 regardless of how well you know the owner.

2011 was the first year for the 3.7 and seems to be the year with issues of various kinds (#6) cylinder seemed to be a problem on that year( LOL on the #6 cylinder) - Ford made some changes in later model years). There, I fixed it for you. I love my 2012 V6, but there are a lot of reasons that the beefed up version is half price of the newer V8. My recommendation: If you want the power of a V8, get a V8. Turning a 3.7 into a V8 means you have to beef up the engine-not just add FI, beef up the trans, drive shaft, rear end, brakes, cooling, etc. Then you have a car that could be difficult to find a shop that can maintain it, and difficult to sell ( your buddy is just finding this out).
