New Guy from the Savannah area!
Hey everyone,
My name is Mike (always been known as Mikie on all my forums) and I'm new to the Mustang world. Not new to cars in the least as I've had a ton of them in my 16 year driving career. My biggest experience has always been with Subarus, of which I've had 2 STIs (2007 Limited, then a 2005) in my past and a 2012 WRX, all with a fair amount of work done. I took a break a year ago and picked up a 2010 Audi S4, but it had a DSG tranny and I always had anxiety thinking something catastrophic would go wrong and I'd be stuck paying thousands in repairs.
So that lead me to getting a Mustang GT a week ago. Mustangs have always been a love of mine, ever since I first saw a 1964 when I was a kid...on up to hearing Fox bodies with Flowmasters drive all over my town. Something about the Ford V8 sound that is better than any other V8 muscle car out there. I had just always lived up north in New Jersey, and could only afford to have one car at a time - so big power RWD just was never in the cards. Which lead me to Subarus.
But since moving with my wife a month ago down here to sunny and warm Savannah, and having to deal with the stupid Ad-Valorum tax in GA, it was time to get something new. And that something new would be RWD with a big ole V8.
So I am now the proud owner of a 2012 Mustang GT premium in Kona Blue with the track package wheels and Brembos. It's great to be back in a manual transmission (my recent S4 was DSG, and boring)...and the previous owner's choice in Catback was a good one - the Corsa on the car sounds amazing.
I'm looking forward to learning and being a part of the club. And I promise I won't run over any pedestrians leaving a Cars and Coffee!
