Default mustang 2014 rack and pinion issue

Hi folks,

I dont know if anyone experienced this with his steering rack, i am a new owner of a Mustang v6 2014, im having bad hitting noises from my rack and pinion when driving over pumpy roads, i lifted the car and inspected the steering rack and what i found is that there is a clearance between the inner rack gear and the outer rack case where the rack gear connect with the tie rod so it keeps hitting the outer case when driving,, its from the driver side. So should i replace the whole rack and pinion assembly or there is a fix for this issue, it feels like there is a bad sealing or smth which causing this.

And by the way there is a slight grinding noise when steering fast. Like there is sand inside the rack and pinion assembly.

Any ideas ?
Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

I'd start a new thread in the appropriate Tech section, there's one specific to your year Mustang, and they'll help you more in there. Good luck
