Intro:
I am a proud Husband and Father. I capitalized both because they are titles I work hard to earn everyday. Unlike my car, the family was used... and is under restoration. I was a single man with cars being my passion and vice... having owned nearly 30 in total over the years. I learned to drive on a 1998 Mustang GT, and the bug bit me. I had other cars that were notable, even fierce. 2004 Dodge SRT4, 1970 Chevelle SS, 1996 Integra GSR, 1988 IROC-Z, 2007 Civic SI... blah blah blah. But I made the pleasing mistake of the the sort the usuallly strikes all men at one time or another... fell in love. Not just the sort that is to be expected... but wildly and completely with a single mother of three boys.
Fast forward 3 years. The modded cars went away... there were other priorities. But low and behold - while shopping for a family SUV I happen upon a 2017 Mustang EcoBoost with GT wheels and a 6 speed. MSRP of 26,995, and the dealer asking only 20,400 plus tax.
And just like that Boys and girls, Daddy is back!. Back in a RWD car. Back in a Turbo car. Back in a Mustang!
And oh how sweet it is!!! The GT will always be better than my 2.3L car... but for a new car under 400 a month and 30+ mpg I have joy in my car once again and the lack of a v8 does not mean a lack of happiness.
iamShifteR, and I am back on the scene.
